Makes 12 servings.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8 ½ x 11 glass baking dish with Pam and set aside.
1 ½ quart fresh blackberries, crushed
1 ¼ cup sugar, or to taste
Bring to a boil. (I thicken it a little with a cornstarch and water mixture.)
1 cup flour
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup (1 stick) melted butter or margarine
Mix flour, sugar, milk, egg, and baking powder in a bowl. Pour melted butter in bottom of prepared baking dish. Pour cobbler batter on top of melted butter. Pour berry filling on top of batter and bake 45 minutes or until cobbler is golden brown.
Can be served warm with vanilla ice cream.
